Frequently Asked Questions
Program Details
-
I specialise in teaching children aged 5 to 10. The program is designed to help young learners build strong foundational skills in English, including reading and writing.
-
Only for spelling review. All other learning is done during our time together.
-
I work with students in École francophone or French Immersion programs to help them become fully bilingual in English.
-
I’ve worked with many children who have unique learning needs, including ADHD, ADD and undiagnosed challenges.
-
I’ve created my own method blending phonics, grammar, and Montessori-inspired techniques that work beautifully online.
-
Lessons are held live online through a secure video platform. Your child will have a fully interactive session with me, focusing on reading, writing, and building confidence in English.
-
Paired tutoring allows two children to learn together at the same time. Both children must be at a similar level and work on the same material, which lets them learn together while saving on tutoring fees.
Is your child 5 years old and ready to start reading? Pairing up could be a great option!
-
The assessment is an essential first step because it helps me understand your child’s current level, strengths, and areas that need support. Without this, it's like starting a journey without knowing where you're going. By assessing your child first, I can tailor the lessons to their specific needs and ensure we’re starting at the right level, so they get the most out of every session. It sets us up for success from the very beginning.
-
If I determine your child is in levels 1 or 2, we can include a short lesson during the assessment.
For children in higher levels or those who are in between levels, the assessment will focus solely on identifying their weak areas.
After registration, I’ll create a comprehensive, personalised lesson plan for your child.
-
Absolutely! If you're unsure, you can sign up for a few lessons to get a feel for my teaching style with no long-term commitment. Once you decide to continue, I'll create a personalised lesson plan tailored to your child's needs.

Many of my students are learning English as a second language (ESL/EAL). Lessons are taught at a comfortable pace with clear explanations and plenty of encouragement. If your child is just starting to learn English, an interpreter (like a parent or sibling) may be needed to help until they build enough English language skills.
-
Yes, I work with families from different countries. Since all lessons are conducted online, children can learn from anywhere, as long as the time zones align. One of the biggest benefits is that your child gets to learn from a native English speaker, helping them improve their pronunciation and enunciation. We’ll adjust schedules for Daylight Saving Time changes as needed to ensure lessons continue smoothly.
